Bala Phani Chand Battu is a seasoned engineering leader with over 12 years of experience in the travel, cybersecurity, and fintech domains. He is a founding member of the Goibibo tech team and has a strong focus on building reliable and scalable systems. Bala is a Python expert and has worked in various roles such as Senior Engineering Manager, Associate Director, and Senior Director of Engineering. Currently, Bala is the Senior Director of Engineering at indmoney, where he plays the role of CISO and is building an internal security team. He leads multiple teams including Goals, Insurance, Rewards (US stocks), and FD. Additionally, he is setting up the team for DevOps and IT. Bala has also worked as a Senior Engineering Manager at Cyware, where he managed the orchestration platform of CSOL and led a team of 25 backend, frontend, and QA engineers. He took the initiative to make the platform freemium to increase adoption. Bala holds an M.Sc(Tech) degree focused on Information Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He has a strong tech stack that includes Senior Software Engineer, Python, DevOps, QA, Frontend, Backend, NoSQL, and Search.
